VDI awards Friedrich Löffler Young Talent Prize in Particle Technology

VDI-GVC awards Friedrich Löffler Prize 2025 to young researchers in particle technology

The VDI Society for Process Engineering and Chemical Industr< VDI-GVC is announcing the Friedrich Löffler Young Talent Prize for the fifth time. The award, worth 3.000 Euro, is intended to honor young experts from industry or research who have made particular contributions in the fields of particle research, particle technology and product design. Suggestions of possible candidates can be submitted until April 30, 2025.
The Friedrich Löffler Prize is intended to support young scientists with a doctorate in engineering and research from the D-A-CH region. It is awarded every three years and will take place at the opening of the international congress for particle technology, PARTEC, on September 23, 2025 in Nuremberg.

Previous years’ winners:
Prof. Dr.-Ing. Sergiy Antonyuk, TU Kaiserslautern (2013)
Prof. Dr.-Ing. Doris Segets, Uni Duisburg-Essen (2016)
Prof. Dr.-Ing Carsten Schilde, TU Braunschweig (2019)
Prof. Dr.-Ing. Johannes Walter (2023)

In 2025, the Friedrich Löffler Prize will be awarded for the fifth time and the prize winners agree: “For us, the Friedrich Löffler Prize represents a great appreciation for our previous research and scientific activities. At the same time, such a prize for young talent is also an incentive “Not to let up in the efforts made so far.”

The prize also honors the legacy of Prof. Dr.-Ing. Friedrich Löffler and his achievements in particle research. Prof. Dr.-Ing. Friedrich Löffler taught in Karlsruhe from 1973 and was appointed C4 professor at the Institute for Mechanical Process Engineering and Mechanics at the University of Karlsruhe in 1989. For his groundbreaking research on particle technology, he was awarded, among other things, the Arnold Eucken Prize of the VDI-GVC in 1974 and the VDI Medal of Honor in Gold from the Air Cleanliness Commission of the VDI and DIN in 1981.

Applications are possible until April 30, 2025.
